Canadian Western Bank (CWB) has been a proud supporter of the Alberta Diabetes Foundation for over 13 years and is honoured to have made a meaningful impact in the local community by contributing to funding for diabetes research. Since 1984, CWB has focused on supporting the endeavours of individuals and businesses in Western Canada and, as a result, has become the largest, publicly traded Schedule I bank headquartered in the West. Partnership with the ADF simply makes sense as both organizations continue to play an active role in making our Province stronger and healthier.

CWB first became involved with the Alberta Diabetes Foundation through sponsorship of the annual golf tournament in 1998. Since then, their contributions have been abundant in both Edmonton and Calgary. In 2010 alone, CWB was involved as Presenting Sponsor of the Jeans & Jersey Dinner and Auction, Gold Sponsor of the Sean Fleming Golf Classic and the Rations for Riches Breakfast, corporate attendees and studentship donors at the A Night to Remember Gala and completed their Capital Campaign commitment to the tune of $150,000.  In total, CWB has contributed $360,000.

While their financial support is key, it is their employees’ personal time commitments that truly define the relationship. Peter Morrison, VP of Marketing & Product Development has been a valuable member of the Board of Directors since joining in 2008, following a long legacy of support from previous CWB management including Bill Book and Ron Baker. Carl Knowler, Director of Marketing, has also played an integral role for the past 10 years as chairman and committee volunteer of both the Sean Fleming Classic and the Jeans & Jersey. Mike McInnis, the newest CWB member to make a mark at ADF, has joined in the planning for the golf tournament coming up this June at The Links. A number of other employees have also offered their time and skills over the years and continue to do so as the partnership between CWB and ADF continues to strengthen.

The Canadian Western Bank continues to be involved in the community and make a tremendous impact on the world around them. We, at the ADF, would like to take this opportunity to thank them for their continued support.
