Calgary chapter office reigns supreme!
2010 was a momentous year for the ADF. Not only did we bid farewell to our founding Executive Director, JoAnne Langner and welcome to our team a new leader, Kathy Fitzgerald, we also expanded our operation.
In July 2010, ADF proudly opened a second office in Calgary, Alberta. Currently, our Calgary Chapter is a one-person operation under the coordination of Emily Kujat (pictured left) who is working hard to establish a permanent presence in the city of Calgary. Despite its size, ADF is pleased to report that the Calgary Chapter has already made a lasting impression on Calgarians. In operation for just under a year, ADF Calgary has secured three annual events, over two hundred volunteers, a dedicated Chapter Board and the support of many of Calgary’s local businesses and corporate giants. It is our hope that over time, ADF Calgary will continue to flourish in the Heart of the New West, providing ADF with additional funding for the Alberta Diabetes Institute (ADI), and their countless innovative pilot projects, studentships, post-doctoral fellowships all dedicated to finding a cure.

Diabetes currently affects more than 300 million people worldwide and with every dollar raised, we are just one step closer to finding a cure for this terrible and debilitating disease. If you are interested in showing your support and getting involved with our Calgary office, please contact our Calgary Coordinator, Emily Kujat - emily@afdr.ab.ca or 1-877-528-1488 to find out more about the many exciting opportunities that ADF Calgary has to offer!
