Keep on Rockn' August

The Alberta Diabetes Foundation (ADF) is thrilled to once again be associated with Rock’n August. This fantastic community-minded group of individuals and corporations have donated over $78,000 for diabetes research and education in 2010 and are hoping to make 2011 a greater success with a goal of $100,000.

The need to find a cure is more urgent than ever with diabetes now reaching epidemic proportions, over 2 million Canadians are afflicted, not including the scores of those that are unaware of their condition. Moreover, this number continues to climb by an estimated 60,000 newly diagnosed diabetics every year and one in three children born in or after the year 2000 are expected to develop the disease. Those affected with Diabetes suffer from blindness, kidney failure, severe hypoglycemia, limb amputation, premature death, stroke, gangrene, impotence and other life threatening illnesses.

Should you wish to make a contribution, that we can use towards making the event a bigger success we can accommodate your wishes and provide you with a tax receipt for the donation. You can participate in this community event by assisting us with the Saturday Night Dinner and Dance.

Please assist us in funding world-class research at the University of Alberta’s Alberta Diabetes Institute. Any contribution will make a difference.
