University of Alberta Hospital Insulin Pump Program

The insulin pump program at the University of Alberta Hospital is for people with diabetes mellitus, the insulin pump offers a different way of taking insulin which can help to improve glycemic control, reduce hypoglycemia, improve matching of insulin delivery to the body's variable needs, among other advantages. Choosing to go on the insulin pump can be a daunting decision to make and with the help from the program at the University of Alberta people can get familiar with the insulin pump through additional education and training. The program at the moment consists of three modules, with advanced modules being added soon.
