Funding innovative research for a global cure.

Wacky Hair Day - November 14th Learn more about World Diabetes Day

Teasing, back-combing, gel sculpting and waves was all the talk for Schools in Hinton, Leduc and Red Deer in Alberta this November as we launched the first annual "Wacky Hair Day" for Alberta Diabetes Foundation! On November 14, 2011, students and staff from Crescent Valley School in Hinton, East Elementary School in Leduc and Westpark Middle School in Red Deer turned up with beehives, spikes, curls and frizz to raise valuable funds for Alberta Diabetes Foundation by wearing their Wacky Hair Style and donating $2.00 per person to the charity.

Awards were given for wackiest class , wackiest school  and wackiest organization for those  groups sporting the best, most creative and craziest hair.

The Alberta Diabetes Foundation is devoted to raising money for diabetes research. Through our fundraising efforts, we directly support scientific research which has yielded extremely positive results. To date the Alberta Diabetes Foundation has raised over 11.8 million in support of cure-related diabetes research.

Join us next year and show you care, and do something WACKY with your hair! Wacky Hair Day is a great way for people in Schools, Groups, Clubs and Corporate Organizations throughout the province to help fund diabetes research in Alberta.
